• Jeff Rothpan

Jeff Rothpan, a veteran of the comedy club scene, was only 23 years old when Jay Leno discovered him at a Los Angeles comedy club. He has appeared six times on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" as a comedic guest. This funny Canadian who now makes Los Angeles his home, talks about the things we can all relate to from getting a haircut to dealing with family squabbles.  His easygoing style, dry and intelligent wit, matched with a perfect delivery led the LA Times to refer to him as "a young Johnny Carson".

In 2000, the Hollywood Reporter actually singled him out as one of the new faces to watch after the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He has returned numerous times to perform at the festival since. He has had the privilege of touring as the opening act for Jim Carrey and has also opened for Dennis Miller, The Beach Boys and Howie Madel.

As an actor, Jeff has performed in several plays, most recently "Hawk Talk", with the LA Weekly commenting that "Rothpan's comedic skills carried the show". He has appeared in two independent feature films, both of which appeared at the Sundance Film Festival. Jeff has made several television appearances, including "Big Sound", "Make Me Laugh", "An Evening At The Improv" and "Comics", as well has having his own hour long "Comedy Now!" special titled "Whiter than Hell". He has also hosted many live events, including his own talk show in Los Angeles.

Jeff is also a writer. He is currently writing on Canada's "Big Sound" and has written material for Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" monologue over a number of years. He has also written for the Grammy Awards and several successful comedians including Harland Wiliams and Rocky Laporte. Jeff recently wrote for "Big Wolf on Campus" and "Misguided Angels" and has done punch-up work on an upcoming feature film for Michael Besman, producer of "The Opposite of Sex".
