Andre Arruda
Born and raised in Kitchener, Andre Arruda moved to Toronto in 2001 to attend Humber College's Comedy: Writing and Performance program. That same year he made his stand up début by winning the Caps Comedy Championship. He has continued doing stand up since, performing in various Venues all over Ontario including Yuk Yuks; where he currently performs every other Wednesday at their Toronto Super Club. His comedy can be best described as with Lewis Black like rants blended with Bill Cosby like story telling about his life as a physically disabled little person living in a world of giants. Andre has also performed sketch comedy for almost ten years touring to various schools all over southern Ontario and stages such as The Heart House, Tim Sims Play house, and Second City: Toronto. No stranger to theatre, he has performed as the Chorus in Antigone, a con artist/bank robber in OOPS!, and Ebenezer Scrooge himself in Christopher Durang’s Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge.
On Television Andre has appeared on almost every major Canadian network including CTV, CBC, The Comedy Network, Global, Much Music, and MTV Canada. Also on Fox Sports where he was a series regular on Out of Bounds: With John Oakley. Watch him in an upcoming episode of the Jon Dore Show and in the Feature Film Hank and Mike coming to Theatres in Easter 2008
